bandwidth limiter network
One of the issues regarding Internet cafe management was to serve the requirements and need of different users. Users come with different needs of Internet traffic speed and quota. It was really difficult to manage bandwidth on each client computer separately. Multiple applications were needed to be installed on all the client computers. All this was annoying and time consuming. Several days were required to set up and run an application in the cafe. However, now you don’t need to waste your time on installation to manage the Internet traffic on all the computers. You can do it very easily in a few minutes with the help of bandwidth management software.
Bandwidth manager software solves all the problems faced some years ago. It directs and manages the download and upload rate on each computer within your cafe independently, without interrupting the activities of other computers. Clients can be limited to specified traffic speed, bandwidth quota, session time, and access limitations.
The software is helpful and suitable not only for the Internet cafes but also for play stations, gaming consoles, and other network centers. It is compatible with all kinds of Internet cafe management software. Its functions are completely automated. You can have different bandwidths for different clients and the network connection is automatically deactivated when the session ends. It is suitable for resorts, hotels and motels and businesses that wish to offer their guests a limited connectivity to Internet. It is also helpful for schools, colleges and universities. It also works in coffee shops and shopping centers etc. it also assists in conference arrangements and businesses to manage the Internet access.
The software assigns a login name and password to administrator who has to login to access all the features of the software. Clients and staff cannot make any changes in the settings, unless authorized.
The software control and manages the limit of bandwidth. The bandwidth is configured in Kb/s. Bandwidth is actually the speed of Internet traffic allowed to a user, and it is set independently for each user without interrupting the bandwidth of other computers. With the bandwidth management software, it is pretty convenient to give high bandwidth to highly paid accounts while allowing low bandwidth to less payment.
Similarly, a bandwidth limit quota can also be controlled. Bandwidth quota is configured in Mbytes/s. This quota is the total amount of Internet traffic allowed to a user. For example, a customer can download 20 MB. Time specifications can also be made with the software.
You can generate customer accounts as well. User accounts can be created based on IP or MAC. If IP or Mac found in the database of the software, computer will login. Software also gives you the option to set a computer to auto log in. If the option is active, computer will be logged on automatically.
Accounts can download and upload according to their quota and payment; they can have unlimited time option as well if authorized. Some accounts can be disabled on temporary basis as well.

Trying to connect my desktop to the internet through my wireless laptop?
I have a compaq preserio 6027 using XP home addition and a Dell insperon 1501 using Vista home premium with wireless internet connection.
I would like to be able to access the internet on my desktop via my laptop.
I have a D-Link broadband ethernet roughter
is this possible?
and how do I configure my systems?
so the laptop is connected to the internet trough its wireless. well you can share the internet connection of the laptop and access the net trough it on the desk top. all you will need is a PC-PC network connection cable popularly known as cross cable because the colours of the cables are crossed over. after you share that of the laptop. you will be prompted that the IP address of the LAN of the laptop is being set to some figure windows will decide. you will then have to set the ip address of the desktop to automatic, and it will acquire an ip address from the laptop, and voila, the laptop will serve as the gateway and server of the desktop and they can both be on the internet.
if you face problems in internet connection sharing, just type “internet connection sharing” into windows help and it will show you the steps i have outlined in more details and help you along with wizards to share your internet connection even for more than one PC, in my school we have connected four computers to the internet trough one laptops wireless connection. we pay for only the laptops connection.

When you travel overseas, for business or pleasure, you still need to stay in touch with friends, family and business colleagues back home. Just taking your home mobile phone with you should not be an option, as international roaming costs can be prohibitively expensive. Here are some ideas for you to consider so that you can save money whilst you travel:
- Get yourself an International SIM card- This is one of the best ways to keep you mobile and contactable. An International SIM card can save you between 60-90% on your call costs and, in many countries, you will not even pay to receive a call. International SIM cards are cheap and allow you to always be contactable.
- Leave your home mobile phone off- With your home mobile, not only will you have high costs for making calls, but you will also pay a fairly high rate to receive calls. Most mobile phone carriers will allow you to call your voicemail box from a landline. This can be the cheapest way to get your messages whilst you are away. Some mobile phone carriers can send voicemails to your email inbox. Some international SIM cards will allow you to forward your home mobile number.
- Send a text if it will suffice- If you are using a mobile, the next think to ask is whether you really need to make a call. Will a text message suffice? Text messages are cheap, and you do not pay to receive a text.
- Send an email- An email is another option. The only cost you have here is internet access in your hotel or at an internet café.
- Get an International Phone card- One of these is a must! If there is a landline you can use to make a call, then use your phone card and you will save a fortune.
