Is Linksys wireless-G Broadband router compatible with a Motorola’s dsl modem?
I have been trying to connect the router to the modem and have not been able to connect to the internet.
Routers want to talk TCP/IP, DSL wants to talk PPPOE.
You’ll need to login to your modem and set it to passthrough or gateway mode. Then you’ll need to login to your router and put it in PPPOE mode (I recall that setting being on the setup panel once you login to your router).
Your ISP will be able to walk you through this if need be. It’s not difficult, just need to know where everything is.
VoIP grew very quickly in the retail market so it goes without saying VoIP grew in the wholesale market. VoIP is the next generation in IP communication that is happening today. In the year 2006, the US market for VoIP advanced dramatically adding close to four million households making the revenues grow quickly in the high- tech market. This serge of growth in the retail market escalated very rapidly and the ability for VoIP providers, carriers and resellers to get high quality routes to international destinations at low prices has created a VoIP commodities trade market.
Voice over internet protocol is what VoIP is all about which brought forth the serge of new companies like Vonage, Cisco, Skype, Call Manager and a host of others who are utilizing the VoIP technology. This new technology is a process of using the capabilities of the IP with the phone in order send voice. The developers created an industry around VoIP technology in the desktop applications, telephone services, and corporate phone systems. VoIP a core technology that drives everything from voice-chat software loaded on the desktop PC to Mac full-blown IP-based telecommunications networks in large corporations. VoIP is a major invention for the corporate world and for the home; it is an excellent way to save on the phone bill.
VoIP is not actually that new the concept has been around since the 1990’s but phone companies were afraid that VoIP would destroy the long distance revenue generated. Since its conception, VoIP has become one of the mainstays of IP usage for both large corporations, small companies and the householder. The retail sales for VoIP have escalated so greatly that now the wholesale volume has increased immensely. This is the time for any brokers or agents to get in on the growth of wholesale VoIP. The VoIP market is positioned for sustained robust growth. Statistics predict residential VoIP will continue to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 116 percent through 2009. The growth of VoIP is not just within the USA countries like Western Europe, Mediterranean, South Africa, and Africa is the fast growing mobile markets of the region.
The market soon will be flooded with VoIP-enabled cell phones that connect with your WiFi directly so that you will not have any interruption to your calls if you need to switch from one system to the other. This is just one of the new innovative products that seen its way on to the market. Just like all families of technology, the window of opportunity is open for only a short time. The first few users of VoIP faced with the technical difficulties that not all end users encounter when a new product hits the market so for a while, VoIP put on the market but suddenly everyone began talking about VoIP again. Engineers have worked long and hard working out the bugs and broadband providers have expanded and upgraded their networks.
Now that VoIP became mainstreamed, there are different ways that you can become a part of the program making a large profit. Agents find that they prefer to be connected with a company like Access Line marketing the product to their prospective clients. Wholesale VoIP resellers are finding a few good routes for VoIP termination and are buying, selling and trading routes from all over the world for profits at VoIP marketplaces websites like eTermination.com. VoIP is here to stay and now is the time to start brokering the deals.

Internet technology is constantly introducing new and better ways to communicate with others around the world, and making telephone calls using VoIP technology is one of those advancements. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, and it allows a computer user who is connected to the internet through a high-speed terminal to make telephone calls to another computer or telephone without using a standard telephone company.
Essentially, there are two kinds of VoIP applications to consider, either hardware or software based. If you choose the software solution, you’ll have to have your computer turned on in order to both make and receive telephone calls, but the only equipment you’ll need is a microphone and speakers connected to your computer.
If you choose the hardware solution instead, you’ll be using a converter box called an ATA that will be attached to your high-speed internet connection. Your telephone can then be plugged into the ATA. The converter box takes the analog signal from your phone and converts it to a digital signal to be sent over the internet in data packets, which are then reassembled on the other end of the telephone connection. By using a hardware VoIP solution, you computer does not have to be on in order for you to make and receive telephone calls, although your Internet connection will have to be active. Many VoIP service providers are including the ATA at very low cost or even for free in some cases.
In order to make use of VoIP technology for placing internet telephone calls, you will need to subscribe to a service plan provided by one of the major VoIP companies in business today. The service plans are usually very inexpensive, often providing for unlimited long-distance telephone calling for as little as $25 per month. You can even save more by choosing a calling plan that places a limit on the amount of minutes used each month, bringing your total cost down to as low as $15 a month.
In addition to domestic long-distance phone calling, many VoIP providers also allow you to make international telephone calls to persons outside of their subscriber base for a per minute fee, sometimes as low as $.10 to $.15 per minute. Some providers even allow free long-distance telephone calling as long as it is carried out between individuals in their own subscriber base.
If you choose to use a hardware VoIP solution, you can expect to spend some time on the phone with customer support in order to get your system up and running correctly, but most likely you’ll be able to experience uninterrupted service from that point on. Also you can expect voice quality to be excellent in most cases, often rivaling that of land line telephones.
When you consider all the advantages of using VoIP technology to place telephone calls over the internet, it’s no wonder that so many consumers are turning to VoIP for their long-distance telephone calling needs.

As with any other product or service most of us would want to try and find the best and most affordable deal available when getting connected to broadband, and the stiff competition in this field has resulted in highly competitive pricing amongst broadband providers, making this service available to more people.
However, there is a way in which you could save even more on the cost of getting connected to broadband, and this is by opting for a bundle package from one of the various broadband providers in operation. A broadband bundle package is one where you get your broadband service, television service, and landline as part of the same bundle, and because you have taken out a number of services with the same provider rather than just your broadband service you could enjoy great savings.
Most Internet Service Providers offer broadband bundle deals, so it is well worth comparing the different deals to see which one will be best suited to your needs and pocket.
Remember, whilst the price of the broadband bundle package is important you also need to consider other factors such as the broadband speeds and data allowances you will get, the contract periods of the broadband bundle package, the number of television channels that you get with the TV service, and any special deals on landline calls, such as free weekend and evening calls.
There are a number of benefits to taking out your broadband as part of a broadband bundle deal. The obvious benefit is the fact that you can save on the cost of your broadband by taking all these services in one bundle. However, you can also save yourself a lot of hassle, as it means that you will be paying just one bill for your three services rather than paying three individual providers each month. Also, if there are problems with an aspect of the service you will only have to deal with one provider rather than having to go to three different providers dependant on the service that has been affected.
Broadband, TV and phone deals can prove to be great value for money, and can make broadband even more affordable whilst also giving you the benefit of a landline and affordable access to a wide range of television channels for your entertainment.
